Easy to make Green Tea Cup Cakes

These Green Tea Cup Cakes are so good! It’s important though to use good quality Matcha to make this recipe, to bring out the green tea flavor. U Matcha is a great quality Matcha that can used both for beverages and cooking!

Green Tea Cup Cakes

These Green tea cup cakes are perfect for the green tea lover. Very easy to make.

Cup Cakes

  • 1 box White Cake Mix
  • 3 tbsp U Matcha Plus a little extra for garnish

Whipped Frosting

  • 1 pint Heavy Cream
  • 1 Cup Powder Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla


Cup Cakes

  1. Pre-heat oven according to box directions
  2. Prepare cake mix according to box. I use applesauce instead of regular oil or shortening. Makes for a more moist cake!
  3. Fill cup cake tin 2/3 full
  4. Bake according to package directions.
  5. Let cool, then add frosting


  1. Pour heavy cream into a chilled bowl. Using chilled beaters, beat the cream until frothy,
  2. Add powder sugar and vanilla  gradually while beating.
  3. Whip until consistency is thick enough to spread.
  4. Fill a piping bag, and ice the cup cakes.
  5. Sprinkle matcha on top of the icing.
  6. Serve and Enjoy!
